Mr. O Canada

Before they light the red lamp for the first time, before the first crash of Canucks and Bruins into the Plexiglas, even before Mike Emrick breaks out an adjective you’d never though you would hear during a hockey game comes the most magical moment of the evening.

Mark Donnelly, known as “Mr. O Canada,” takes to the ice in Vancouver for something seemingly mundane. He barely gets out half of the national anthem before the rest of the crowd joins as one to take over.  You don’t have to enjoy sports to enjoy this moment. If you aren’t overcome with an outbreak of goosebumps, you are missing out.

Take a minute to watch Mr. Donnelly at his craft. It’s incredible.

Regardless of who you root for in the Stanley Cup Finals, please cheer for Mark Donnelly.

He’ll give you a chance to sing a national anthem.
