Round 2

Pumping myself full of Coca-Cola and pretzels, I’m starting my second round odyssey of live blogging the events at the Augusta National Golf Club. (Side note: the hard pretzels I bought in the vending machine were called a “fit pick.” I feel very healthy this morning.)

It feels like moving day at Augusta. Both Y.E. Yang and Rickie Barnes have caught Rory McIlroy to make it a 3-way tie for the lead. Fred Couples, Luke Donald and Paul Casey are also putting together fine morning rounds as they all lurk four shots back of the leaders. Alvaro Quiros just bogeyed the first.

Hard to guesstimate how this day will play out. It looks like another day of low scoring, but Augusta really likes to bite back when she gives up low scores.  The cut line is currently at +4, which brings a tremendous amount of golfers into the weekend. We’ll see how that plays out.

One final note: the golfers who went out late played considerably better than the morning threesomes. That could be great news for Tiger Woods and his fans. If you have any questions during the round, tweet me at WBALDash.

Until next time, him ’em straight.
