Sergio

Sergio Garcia has never won a major championship.

He came pretty darn close in the 1999 PGA Championship and even closer in the 2007 Open Championship.

If he were a library book, they would charge you $50 in late fees. He’s that due.

Garcia’s on the second nine right now at Augusta National, a course he doesn’t play particularly well. He’s missed the cut four times and finished in the 40’s three other trips. Those aren’t excellent numbers. A possible 68 is.

Garcia went eagle-birdie on 13 & 14 to charge within three shots of McIlroy’s impressive mark. if he can get in at 5-under, he’s right where he wants to land at Augusta. For once.

Both Tiger and Phil need to get it going. Woods is 1-under on 14 and Phil’s just walking around at even par thru 4 holes. On a day where going low is key, the two favorites are just standing still.
