More Roars For Rors

Watching.

Just watching.

And cheering on the inside.

Rory McIlroy, the 21-year-old Northern Ireland golfing prodigy, carded a 65  in the first round of The Masters. He’ll likely get a shot to see what it feels like to sleep on a lead at Augusta.  It’s not too early to point out that he’d be the second youngest champion in Masters history.

McIlroy flirted with a 62 until the 16th hole where he misread the speed of a tricky birdie effort. Following that up with another misread on 17 seemed to take some of the building pressure off the youngster. You couldn’t help but root for him. He was, at one point on the back nine at Augusta National, on pace to tie or break Nick Price’s record of 63.

The last player to arrive at Augusta National has the first spot on the leaderboard.

Not too bad for a 21-year-old kid on a Thursday afternoon.
