Time For A Change

Nobody runs a more aesthetically pleasing practice than the Naval Academy.

About an hour before they kicked off against Maryland on a sun-splashed Labor Day, the Naval Academy brought its coordinated ballet to the West side of M&T Bank Stadium.

Most teams walk-throughs before the game are quite boring and predictable.

Not Navy.

The Mids treat these part of the game as if it counted on the large RavensVision boards.

In a game that will likely shift the focus in college football from College Park to Annapolis, the Naval Academy looks ready to enjoy their moment in the sun. In the last couple of years, Navy has risen to a powerhouse in Maryland. They should have been ranked in the preseason poll and have one of the leading candidates for the Heisman Trophy award. On the other hand, Maryland enters a season of uncertainty fresh off a 2-10 record which featured an overtime win at home against a team not in the football subdivision.

Even though the M&T Bank crowd supports the Terps more than the Mids, they understand the reality of the situation.

Navy will make a bowl game. Maryland will not.

Navy has an exceptional young coach who continues to build a superior program. Maryland will fire its coach at the end of the season.

The revolution has begun.
