The Sixth Sense

The best team in America’s premier sport has arrived in Florida to win the Super Bowl.

Sporting a 12-4 regular season record and strutting in South Florida with more attitude than Mickey Rourke in “The Wrestler,” the Pittsburgh Steelers will conclude their business trip to Tampa on Sunday night with their 6th Vince Lombardi Trophy.

For Pittsburgh, it’s “us first” at Raymond James Stadium.

Does anyone really think that the Arizona Cardinals, the longest shot on the board at the start of the postseason, can make a run against the presumptive best franchise in the history of the Super Bowl?

Owners of the most difficult schedule in the league, Pittsburgh only lost four games by a total of 37 points. The Steelers enter the Super Bowl with terrific balance. They don’t particular run the ball well enough to make you take notice. Pittsburgh only had five games during the regular season where a running back broke the 100 yard barrier. Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger passed for more than 300 yards in just three games in the regular season. Still, the Steelers won 12 games.

Pittsburgh looks unbeatable.

Arizona looks lucky.

Every football fan, including myself, thinks the Steelers look like champions.

We’ll find out if looks can be deceiving on Sunday night.
