The Three Amigos

They sit at the very top of where sections 372 & 374 meet. Three teenagers, two girls and a guy, occupy two sections with only three people. “Up here, you can see everything,” says one of the girls. She claims she’s an avid baseball fan and her knowledge of the team with 89 losses is impressive. She likes Luke Scott, but loves Brian Roberts.

After all, she’s a teenage girl.

Her friend, in a matching pink O’s cap, says that they’ve been here since the first pitch of the first game and won’t leave until they record the final out. She says the group has been to every Orioles game this season, which seems like a more improbable accomplishment than Cal Ripken’s consecutive games streak.

The boy, not so much a baseball fan as much as he’s a fan of the two girls, looks like he’d rather be playing “Guitar Hero” than taking in a double dip at Oriole Park.

Checking up from my perch in the press area, they are still there.
