7th Inning Stretch (Part One)

It looks like Carlos Pena just delivered the knock out punch in the first game. Singling through the left side of the infield (you’ll never guess who had a chance to make a play), Pena allowed Fernando Perez to score Tampa’s fourth run of the afternoon. The Rays have scored in each of the last three innings and show why they will be a force in the postseason. A constant string of hits by mostly “no name players” keeps the Rays in any game.

One of those players just kept the Orioles in this one. Rocco Baldelli continues his miserable afternoon as he displays his warning track power to leave runners on 2nd & 3rd for Tampa Bay.

At the stretch, it’s 4-2 Rays.

Just in time for John Denver’s “Thank God I’m A Country Boy,” the entire lower bowl fills up. Also for the first time today, we see Orioles fans actually having fun at the ballpark.
