If you’re wandering the downtown streets in Spokane, Washington this weekend looking for something to do, you’ve come to the right blog located about 3,000 miles away from the event.
At Mirabeau Point Park, the annual Holistic festival will provide information for organic and natural remedies. Naturally, a potpourri of books, crystals, art and other goods are up for sale.
Oh, and they’re going to play basketball this weekend as well.
The number one seed in the Spokane Region, the Maryland Lady Terps, look to wash away the second round loss in last year’s tournament and inject the same spirit that pushed them to a national title two years ago in Boston. As of this blog entry, Maryland still had to beat the eight seed Nebraska Cornhuskers at Comcast Center on Tuesday night. If they thrash the Huskers, the Lady Terps will face Vanderbilt late Saturday night in Washington.
In their first game of the tournament, the Lady Terps needed a late dose of Amethyst to increase their energy and defeat the Coppin State Eagles by 14 points. Acknowledging a sloppy Easter Sunday on the court, Maryland knows it must step up its game against Nebraska on their home court.
Then the fun really starts.
Two years ago in New Mexico, a two seed Maryland team wasn’t expected to crash its way through towards the Final Four. The Lady Terps now fully understand that everyone goes after a number one seed.
Needing to stock up on a full assortment on good luck charms before they tip deep in the Spokane night, Maryland knows how to take advantage of a lucky break. When the tournament field plays out to the Sweet 16, no one truly knows who will win. Maybe a quartz stone for the entire team will bring them clarity, and another national title in early April.
