ACC Notes – North Carolina/Florida State

It looks like North Carolina head coach Roy Williams was a little unhappy with the officiating this afternoon in the quarterfinal matchup against Florida State. Using the last minute of the game as a teaching tool towards the refs, Williams got into a verbal argument with the official as both teams played out the remainder of the easy Carolina win. If Williams tries this tomorrow or Sunday, expect to see an early technical foul on the head Tar Heel.

 Some box score nuggets…

*Tyler Hansbrough finished with 22 points and six rebounds. Florida State did a great job to limit his damage in the first half, but the soon-to-be player of the year padded his numbers from the free throw line late in the game.

*Florida State finished with four more 3-pointers than UNC and very similar numbers in field goal percentage and rebounds. The difference in the game – free throw shooting. Carolina sunk ten more free throws than FSU.
