ACC Notes – N.C. State/Miami

2:36 PM – As we settle in for the second game of the afternoon, I’m still amazed that Wake Forest came out flat against Florida State. Shooting 19% from 3-point range, the Deacons followed the same script all season long – they can’t get inside and score and fall in love with the 3-point shot. In the end, that’s what ended their season.

2:44 PM – Always good to see North Carolina State coach Sidney Lowe in the bright red blazer.

2:51 PM – Nine and a half minutes into the game N.C. State hits its first field goal, and still only trails by 7 points. Miami’s big star Jack McClinton needs to step it up if the ‘Canes want to save something for the quarterfinal matchup tomorrow.

2:57 PM – Forget about tomorrow. All of a sudden, N.C. State can’t be stopped. The Pack cut the deficit to just two points as we hit the under 8:00 timeout in the first half. Miami looks like a team that wishes they had the first round bye in the tournament.
