Another One For New England

With only a handful of days before the Patriots and Giants meet at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona on Sunday, I’d like to make a Super Apology before they kickoff the Super Bowl.

I was wrong.

New England will win.

Big time.

A few weeks ago, I made the bold prediction that someone would take out the Patriots at some point in the playoffs. Even though the Giants still have a shot to claim the famous Vince Lombardi trophy by knocking off the only 18-0 team in the history of the league, does anyone really see this team beating New England?

Watching the news conferences throughout the week that lead up to the championship game, you can see how the personalities differ between the AFC and NFC representatives. The Patriots never reveal too much, speak in short sentences and have been through the wringer of Super Bowl week before. The Giants look like a 15 seed in the NCAA Tournament. They are truly just happy to be in Arizona. From a wide receiver who makes an outlandish prediction to a group of Giants playing the card game spades during the press availability this morning, it’s nothing but smiles for Tom Coughlin’s crew.

That’s until kickoff on Sunday night at 6:30.

New England has too many weapons on offense, a good enough defense to confuse a bewildered Eli Manning and a coach who knows how to win the biggest game of the season.

Don’t read this the wrong way. I really hope I’m wrong. I want someone to beat New England. The reality of the situation is that I’ll have to wait until next September.
